The mission.
A premiere for the Wind Energy Sector needs a distinctive way of announcing itself: The maintenance department of ZF Wind Power (from Lommel) is a top notch service for wind turbine maintenance.
The problem with this service was that wind park owners were encountering very long waiting times for their wind turbines, resulting in many turbines being offline during this waiting time.
This is of course very costly and wind park owners want to avoid this as much as possible. Therefor ZF Wind Power is starting this service that would ensure more productivity for this green energy sector.
The creative proposal
Lapino albino has been working closely with ZF Wind Power for several years now, creating video for new products, new services or any other mission.
For this new and innovative service ZF asked us to propose a new approach. Something that would stand out of the videos this sector is used to.
Most of these videos are meant for engineers or high-tech profiles. So the videos in the sector were mostly informative.
By proposing an animation instead of real live filmed images we already proposed something different. Adding a bit of humour would make the video attractive and entertaining for a message that is quite technical.
The cartoon style of animations and movements would exaggerate the actions in the video and by adding a bit of sound design, the magic touch, the video would be uplifting and easy to love.
So easy to love that ZF Wind Power used this video as the start of a whole new brand: Thrive. The characters lived on in that project and the visuals were used in more videos, posters, fair stands and all other derived media.
