The mission.
Hockey in Belgium became one of the most popular sports in the country. After several successes by the national men and women teams it is not really surprising.
But some issues have arised with this growing popularity. Supporters misbehaving, agression, alcohol abuse,… it are only a few examples of these problems.
The national Hockey League wanted to create a series of videos to talk about these negative changes in their sport to launch awareness around these issues. This way they try to keep their sport clean and enjoyable for all.
The creative proposal
A sensitisation campaign is always a bit tricky as the message can be very belittling. We inspired ourselves by watching different kinds of sensitisation videos in sports and found that humor is probably the best approach to this sensible subject.
With humor you can vulgarise the most complex messages but also make clear some informations we don’t really want to hear (uncomfortable truths 😉
So a creative voice over text was the first thing to write down for this project.

We also knew that the goal was to make a series of videos with recognisable characters and visuals.
So we created a visual style that would be usable for all subjects that these videos would cover.
The characters were also used in posters and other visual communication in the clubs to remember the players and supporters about these valuable lessons.
