The mission.

For the Youth museum Sparkoh! we were selected to create a series of educational videos with animations and interviews to nourish an expositionabout Space and all that is related to it.
The goal was to create compelling eductational but fun video’s about scientific topics that sometimes are quite complex to explain!

As part of the Sparkoh! Youth Museum’s new exhibition on space, we were selected to produce a series of educational videos designed to complement and enrich the visitor experience. The overarching theme of the exhibition revolved around space exploration and the vast universe of scientific questions that come with it. Our mission was to create a collection of short, engaging videos that not only educate but also entertain—especially for a younger audience.

To ensure scientific accuracy and depth, we set out to interview some of the most respected experts in the field. Our team visited the University of Mons and the University of Liège, and we were also fortunate to speak with a professor at the Paris Observatory—each of whom brought a unique perspective and area of specialization to the table. From astrophysics to satellite technology and planetary science, the range of topics was as broad as it was fascinating.

However, making complex scientific theories understandable to children—and even to our production crew at times!—posed a creative challenge. We realized early on that the interviews alone wouldn’t be enough to fully convey the concepts in a clear and captivating way. That’s why we developed a visual strategy that placed a strong emphasis on storytelling through motion graphics.

By carefully directing the interviews, we were able to extract clear, structured explanations that lent themselves well to visual interpretation. We then collaborated closely with animators to create a series of playful yet informative 2D animations, designed to visually represent the concepts being discussed.

These animations were seamlessly integrated into the final videos, helping to translate abstract or technical information into something that’s easy to understand and visually memorable.

We went out to interview the top experts on space topics at the Mons and Liege university and even one professor at the university observatory in Paris.

Each Professor had their expertise domaine on which they could explain the basics. But even this was sometimes even for the crew quite difficult to understand.

To make the content easy to understand we directed the interviews in a certain way that a lot of visual input could be used. This resulted in some very nice 2D animations that were integrated into the videos that help to understand what these experts are talking about.

In the end the goal is that kids can learn something, while having fun of course!

The Cosmic Weather Forecast – A Creative Educational Spin

In addition to the expert interview videos featuring university professors, we developed a unique and playful concept titled “The Cosmic Weather Forecast.”

Designed specifically to appeal to younger audiences, these segments blended science education with humor and storytelling to bring the solar system to life in a way that feels accessible, exciting, and memorable.

The format was inspired by traditional TV weather reports—but with a cosmic twist.

In two energetic and visually engaging videos, we cast two young hosts as space-age news anchors broadcasting live from a futuristic newsroom. Their mission? To check in with their interplanetary weather correspondents stationed across the solar system.

Each correspondent reported live from a different planet—or extreme space environment—giving fun and factual updates on the conditions found there. From Venus’ scorching heat and sulfuric acid clouds, to the icy winds of Neptune, the young viewers were taken on a whirlwind tour of planetary atmospheres and surface conditions.

Pushing the imaginative boundaries even further, our correspondents didn’t stop at planets. They landed on an asteroid, navigating microgravity and uneven terrain, and even ventured dangerously close to the Sun—reporting on the unimaginable temperatures and solar flares of the Sun’s surface (with lots of protective gear, of course!).

Ultimately, The Cosmic Weather Forecast served not only to entertain but to subtly teach kids about key scientific concepts—such as planetary composition, atmospheric phenomena, temperature extremes, and the structure of our solar system. It transformed complex astronomy into an engaging, story-driven experience that left kids both informed and inspired.

The final result is a series of vibrant, informative, and fun videos that bring the wonders of space to life. They were designed not only to spark curiosity but also to make scientific content accessible to children without diluting the integrity of the information. The feedback from young visitors has been enthusiastic, proving that with the right approach, even the most complex topics can become exciting and inspiring.

Ultimately, our goal was to support learning through creativity, combining expert knowledge with visual storytelling to create a meaningful experience for young minds.
